You don't have to become the expert overnight

If you've just been diagnosed, or someone you love has, it can feel like you need to learn everything about lung cancer overnight! You don't. What you need is an expert who can get you to the right treatment, as quickly as possible. Here's some information to help you start thinking about the questions you want to ask before your first consultation.

Hear from people who've been here before you

These are patients I've walked through this journey with, from that first difficult conversation to treatment and beyond. Here's what they say about the care they received.

Stay Informed

I help you make sense of a lung cancer diagnosis

Get clear, practical information on your diagnosis and treatment options, so you know what's happening, what to ask, and what to expect next.

I help patients who've been told curative radiotherapy isn't an option find another way forward

If you've been told you can't have surgery or radiotherapy aimed at cure, it's worth talking about proton beam therapy. Perhaps other lung conditions are making curative treatment difficult, in which case proton beam therapy could be the answer you're looking for. Or perhaps you've had radiotherapy before and been told you can't have it again. Before you move to palliative chemotherapy, it's worth exploring whether proton beam therapy is an option for you.

I help patients who can't have surgery, or don't want it, still get their lung cancer treated with curative intent

If you've been told you're not fit enough for surgery, or you'd simply rather avoid an operation, stereotactic radiotherapy (SABR) may still give you a real shot at cure. It's a precise, non-invasive treatment that targets your tumour over just a handful of sessions. In my own practice, 90% of patients I treat with SABR for early-stage lung cancer have their tumour controlled, in line with what you'd expect from surgery, without ever needing to go under the knife or have a general anaesthetic.

I help you get the right drug for your cancer, not just the first one available

Not all lung cancers are the same, even when they look identical on a scan. Molecular profiling looks at the genetic makeup of your specific tumour, so you can find out whether targeted therapy or immunotherapy is likely to work best for you, rather than starting treatment that isn't matched to your cancer. Getting this testing done quickly means you're not left waiting to find out which drugs give you the best chance, you can move straight into the treatment that's actually right for you - whether that's immunotherapy, chemotherapy or targeted therapy.

I help you get every diagnostic test done quickly, so you can move straight to treatment

Waiting weeks between scans, biopsies, and results can feel like the hardest part of a lung cancer diagnosis. You shouldn't have to wait that long. Getting all your tests done quickly and in the right order means you can move straight to the treatment you need, without delays getting in the way. The sooner you're seen, the sooner you'll know what you're dealing with, and what to do about it.

I help you look after your whole self, not just your cancer

Alongside your drugs and radiotherapy, you have access to clinical exercise physiologists, dietitians, and psychological support, all working together as part of your care, not as an afterthought. Staying active during and after treatment helps you tolerate therapy better, recover faster, and feel more like yourself again. Good nutrition and the right psychological support do the same, easing symptoms, protecting your quality of life, and helping you through the parts of this that no drug can reach. There's even early evidence that exercise may help reduce the risk of your cancer progressing or returning, though that research is still developing. What's clear already is this: you deserve care that treats all of you, and that's what I offer.
